TIPS FOR A HEALTHY AND BALANCED NUTRITION

Being fit and healthy, productive and appealing is the goal. A good nutrition brings you closer to this goal. The composition of the nutrition should include biologically produced, regional and seasonal products.

A balanced nutrition will include all essential nutrients. The right balance of carbohydrates, fat, proteins, vitamins, minerals and micronutrients and water plays a major role in a balanced nutrition. The nutritional pyramid displays the right balance between the different kinds of nutrients.

To function perfectly, the body needs energy and nutrients. The chemical energy coming from the nutrition is converted into biological energy by metabolic processes. The biological energy fuels the vital functions.

NUTRIENTS

1) Carbohydrates increase the blood sugar level. They are a very important source of energy. They appear in all herbal food products and they are produced with the help of sunlight, water and photosynthesis. Depending on the number of saccharides, carbohydrates can be classified as mono, dual or polysaccharides. Also dietary fibers can be classified as carbohydrates. Fibers help the digestive system, have a saturating effect and keep the blood sugar level low. Fifty to sixty percent of the diet should consist of carbohydrates.

2) Lipids, fats support the storage of large amounts of energy. The breakdown of lipids takes place in the mitochondria of the cells. Usable energy gets released. Lipids are classified as saturated and unsaturated lipids (mono / poly). Thirty percent of the energy intake by nutrition should consist of lipids and fats but should not exceed eighty grams (about two point eight ounces) per day.

3) Proteins are chains of amino acids and nutrients that can take various forms or functions in the body. They can be used as tiles for the construction of supporting tissue, to establish new connections and for storage. Different proteins are needed for the motions of the body, to fight bacteria and viruses and for the transmission of signals in the body.

4) Vitamins are organic molecules which the human body only needs in small doses but they are essential for a lot of metabolic processes. The daily dose of the thirteen known vitamins for the human body lies between 0, 01 and 100 milligrams. They can be classified as hydro soluble and lipo soluble vitamins. The main source for vitamins should be biologically grown and responsibly produced products because vitamins directly affects the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins, lipids and minerals.

5) Minerals are inorganic components of the nutrition and have vital functions in the human body. Minerals can also be referred to as macronutrients. They occur rather often in the body. The concentration is over 50 milligrams per kilo of body weight. The body needs a large amount of calcium and phosphorus for the bone structure and for nerves and muscles.

6) Water is an essential component of various metabolic functions of the body. Its most important function is to be a solvent. The majority of the cells in the body are surrounded by water. Water is also needed to flush waste out of the system and to cool the body. Water is emitted through the kidneys, the breath and the skin. It is essential to frequently refuel the body with water.
